Have wanted to go here for a while. Mexican inspired food that riffs off authenticity but isn't bound by it. The pastrami tacos were interesting although quite pickled, and the guacamole could have used a bit of dialing up in flavor. But an interesting experience...

Good "craft" cocktails although most on list had sweetener (syrup, agave, etc) in them. Bartender made up this excellent drink with gin, cynar, dry vermouth and cucumber that was outstanding - called the Chin Up.

BEST dumplings in Sunset Park - handmade right there in the food court!

Great place for happy hour - $1 oysters and very good cocktails and wine by the glass

Very long wait (1+hr) and seems a bit less good than it was the first time I went. Took 2 French bread bakers and the bread was just ok. Smoked fish good as usual but the black and white cookie for dessert was very stale (I told waiter and he said they didn't have any more...for $10, they should stock fresh black and whites, imho.) The black and white ice cream was so-so and made me wish I'd ordered the halvah ice cream that I had the previous time. The grape shrub that was perfect on my first visit was now more sweetened than before.

Great first courses, especially the spicy sausage spread and stratchiatelli! Pizzas ok but could have used a few more moments in oven, according to my Italian friend I was dining with :) no wait at lunch!

Ok BBQ. Very lively atmosphere - lots of beer drinkers, etc. good ribs, decent brisket but not exceptional. My Sidecar cocktail came in a tall tumbler with a LOT of coarse sugar on rim :-/

Amazing Syrian pastries. The semolina cake is great as are the filo treats. A special place (they recommended Vic's nearby for pizza, too, but haven't been)
