Stadium sized concert venue. Enormous. And turn of the century style. Kind of bizarre, but worth checking out!
Gorgeous. Conservatory and Hudson River views across to Palisades. Can't believe I've never been here in 8 years of NYC.
My neighbors! Art in Bushwick!!
The quintessential area dive bar with plenty of live music, and a big outdoor space. Huddle and get sweaty with hundreds of your 20-something Brooklynite brethren.
Williamsburger beer hall, complete with steins and grilled sausages. Definitely recommended if you have a hankering for any of the above.
Street jazz bands, sausages and kraut, beer steins and mess hall
Came here for Kehinde Wiley's exhibit, which was expansive and eye-opening. A bit lopsided of a space, but to say the least it holds its own in a city full of world-class museums.
Apparently Maite means "loved one" in Basque. Wonderful small plates.
Molés for miles
I don't know how everyone's pictures are so much better than mine. It's dark in here. Good oysters. Not the comfiest place, but it's got a kitschy brooklyn charm.
Queso and Almódovar. Come here every couple months. The food is a tick above decent, and the movie selection is nicely curated.
Signed up for a year here. They have great iphone integration!
Not a great picture but this was good scampi. The chicken parm hits the spot.
There's only one hot pot place in Manhattan, and then a smattering in flushing. Frankly, it's nearly all the same quality of food, everywhere: peppercorn-littered broth with the same raw meats/greens. But you get more space and less hassle in flushing.
Finally tried this place for a quick take out lunch. At 6.50, the chicken biscuit is the right price, and tasty.
Want to go.
Oooo look... a blurry picture it's modern art
Hangin with my bro moleskine.
Look at the picture. I smell like whitefish.
Surprised I haven't added this. Neighborhood staple/gathering spot.
Amazing. Make the trip, and order a steak.
Solid iteration of the obligatory napoletana pizza bar of every hip neighborhood in the USA. It'll scratch the itch if you're in the area, but isn't necessarily a destination. Are napoletana pizzerias ever destinations anymore?
South prospect park. What a gem.
Great $1 section!!
Banana split. Diabetes split.
Basquiat and Bernstein pilgrimage on Father's Day 2014. This used to have nearly as many tourists per year as Niagara Falls!
Jukayyyyy
Sometimes you just need to go to Home Depot. A lot of the times
Really clever Gorey-tesque comedy. Won the tony for a reason, and pay attention to who plays the D'ysquith family!
I don't know what it is, but this is as good as the New York slice gets for me. Lucky that they're 2 blocks away from home. Slice of pizza to eat, slice of bushwick to observe
Decent as a bar, quite good as a Cajun food popup - "Tchoup shop"
Thought I marked this. A mid market Mexican food sit down place that has a nice backyard and mariachi. I can also hear you yelling here.
Two doors down from me, reasonably priced draughts! Just don't be too loud, I can hear you yelling from my bedroom.
So much cumin you can barely see anything else. So good also.
Hand pulled noodles, dumplings that warm me up
Not sure if the same folks as on graham ave, but it's a welcome addition, beautiful exposed brick, big windows, stumptown.
Gourmet grilled cheese. The brooklyn empire is brimming past its britches. Not sure if I want to go
Great japanese run consignment
Yes
This isn't marked?

Small bookstore with coffee and a bar. Good work spot, wifi, but sparse seating
Not sure if this is the correct one, on dekalb. Best cheap slice in the neighborhood
Pet store with an Instagram. Active in community
Great signage
Asian bento box lunch things. Not been yet. By bozu and momo folks
Graphic novels, great
St. Louis style pizza. Yum

Homemade tortillas. First time I've seen a tortilla press machine. They just take a ball of dough, and stick it in this flattener thing, press the lever and voila, tortilla made to ordwr
Neighborhood bakery. Good place to sit and people watch

Surprisingly reasonable pricing, pretty good home style italian
Supposedly best in the borough, with their new michelin rec, but I wasn't terribly impressed with my lunch special. Gonna try again and chalk it up to bad ordering.

They take the stress out of what is normally a stressful process, i.e. diagnosing and fixing car issues. 24 hour pickup of vehicle. Amazing service.

Went with my brother. Great vegan fare and juices. Doesn't taste like a "vegan restaurant", worth going to regardless of prandial proclivities.

One of the few places in the neighborhood to have a legit vegetarian ramen. Otherwise this is the budget ramen house.

If this place had a book on panic attacks, I wouldn't have been able to find it quick enough to help.

Sassiest Korean shopkeepers I have met, and I have met a lot (see Azure Foods, Green Bay Packers sweatshirt Korean Shopkeeper). A cat too, and also produce.

Hey hey hey, holy low prices Fat Albert! When the lady in line at Food Bazaar told us that we could save money on Christmas lights here, we knew we were in for a serious treat.

Sort of odd decor, but the deep fried dough pizzas are something worth trying out once.
Edit: I say once because that's all you will be able to eat before you suffer a massive coronary
I'm starting to think that every neighborhood in Brooklyn has a place like this. I'm also starting to think that places like this hire the same figurants and clothe them in recycled gear from the other places.
Smoothies are fine and all, but maybe I'm just being a philistine when I say that I can't taste the beets in it.
Pretty humble place with an owner that looks and acts like a Fred Armisen character. But here's the kicker: for no charge beyond my own voluntary tips (and purchase of a 5 dollar cable housing) they let me use their tools for 3 hours to diagnose and do my own amateur replacement of my derailleur cable. That was pretty amazing and generous.
Good service, really friendly. He almost charged me for the installation of one tire, which would have pissed me off since I didn't ask for it, but didn't so it was fine.
Not sure how this is now, but when I went there it was like 20 bucks for 5 bites of cheese.
Really close to a beautiful "nouveau azteca" structure, which is the highlight of the neighborhood. Oh, and the food is ok.
More charming than beacon, but I prefer beacon for selection.
All of the buttery shake, none of the shack.
My go to on UWS. Also one on Columbia campus that I frequent.

Good Mexican, good delivery. Nachos and flautas.
If you're lucky, come in the evening on any given weekday night and watch the Hasidic baseball league
Robertas. Nuff said.
