Market-driven JG Vongerichten concept inside shabby-chic ABC Home store near Union Square. Super-fresh ingredients, simple but dynamic flavors, excellent flavors. Chef Dan Kluger left in 2014, and I need to go back to update status. Prime celebrity spotting.

Hearty, flavorful Italian cooking by Marco Canora. Nicely presented dishes. Great brunch option. I recommend.

Great Italian fare. Short ribs are a must. But recent chef change begs me to return to makes me unsure as to current state of menu and quality. Need to return.

I had sharky, aggressive service. Too bad, because the food was quite good, though overpriced. Asiatique-French bistro. Awesome cocktails. Willing to give another chance.

Inconsolable that opening chef Gabriel Kreuther and pastry chef Marc Aumont have left. But new chef Abram Bissell showing strong. Pastries had yet to turn over on my last visit. Also strains of being without general manager showed. Hoping they can tighten game before I return.

I've had really crappy service here. On the other hand, both times I've been, food has been outstanding. Seafood and pasta; but don't ignore the meat - had fantastic steak here too. Will go back.

Not cheap. But you'll get what you pay for in luxury ingredients and pristine fish. I found the rice to be mediocre. No photos allowed inside (hence this photo of the door). Need to go back.

Chubby Checkers doing the twist. Slickback waiters in maroon tuxes. Tableside Caesars. Gyllenhaal and Seinfeld at the next table. Don't go for the food. Go for campy, red sauce Italian throwback in its most glorious form. I recommend.

Been a dozen times. Loved first 3 years under Humm. Then, trends and spectacle took over. Became high-quality dinner theater. Hope it turns back to focusing on cooking. It's an annual tradition with friends. Will be back soon.

Once at the counter, once in the private dining room downstairs (intimate; I loved the room). Great service. I appreciate the kitchen's technical proficiency, but lacking in originality. Desserts are phenomenal.

One of my favorites. Have been here a dozen times. Lunch is a great value, and I love the people-watching in this lightbox of a dining room. Sea bass with sweet and sour; asparagus with morels in vin jaune; too many classics to list. My highest recommendation.

Unexpected combinations, but soulfully delicious. Get the dumplings, the tartare, and the walnut-endive dishes. Crowded. Loud. Late-night. I recommend.

I'm here far too often, sometimes 3 times a week. Love the counter (tables are small and few). Get the fideos and crispy pig ears, and whatever else looks good. I highly recommend.

Williamsburg channeling the French Quarter. Excellent fruits de mer, impeccable egg dishes at brunch. Service with major attitude, and sometimes, nonexistent.
