Casual, boisterous wine bar vibe with delicious, small but ambitious menu. The kind of scene you’d expect in Copenhagen but hard to find in more buttoned up Stockholm. Photo via @olletcellton (Instagram).

The best example of modern hospitality I may have ever seen. Old world charms, with thoroughly up-to-date sensibilities. The kitchen feels like having a personal chef in your own home, and Niklas is a passionate, down-to-earth sommelier who can guide you just as easily through their cellar list as to the latest spots in town. A luxury on many levels, hard to do it justice without experiencing yourself.

Delicious traditional Swedish meatball preparation style and very well-sourced ingredients! They have a map on the wall and all sorts of educational elements. Communal seating. Make sure to try the lingon berries. Had my first taste of reindeer here!

Mircobrews and food with a view. This place would be amazing on a sunny evening.

Literally the "back pocket" of the Opera. Love this café. Go for Old Timey appeal and classic Swedish fare. Hearty, beautifully cooked. Fresh horseradish upon request. Highly recommend.

A beautifully restored building. A great option to stay in central Stockholm.

Recommend by Jonas at Faviken when I asked for a good place for dinner on a Sunday. Said it attracts an industry crowd too. Ludvig said people often go after eating at Rolf's Kok and it's more about the scene than the food, though there are multiple levels (the top is closest to a bar). Want to go.

Jeanette Mix of Ett Hem says "One of Sweden's best chefs [Mathias Dahlgren] wants to promote Swedish baking in this gorgeous new bakery with delicious bread and some takeaway food." A great recommendation by Chad Robertson - now I see the inspiration for Tartine's chocolate rye cookies.

Great stop for groceries and snacks. Also carries Parlans caramels (in case you find their shop is closed). Multiple locations.

Local cooking in many guises; an extensive tasting menu (Krog), a more casual sister (Slip), a deli (Oaxen Skafferi). Also a seasonal 'hotel ship' (Prince van Orangiën). Originally via Nuno Mendes, and one of the top on JD's list too. Want to go.
