I've never in my life seen so many people selling produce in one place. Thousands of vendors stretched out for miles selling piles and piles of fruit and veg. Here the vendor is literally buried behind his flor de calabaza (squash blossoms).

From Maximo Bistrot's Chef Eduardo Garcia's brand new restaurant, open just for breakfast now but soon to have pizzas and fresh pasta as well. Exciting and well balanced delicious food!

Another excellent late night al pastor place. An especially indulgent option is to get a thick layer of gooey queso on top!

This place has been in business for 100 years and makes the most excellent tamales wrapped both in husk and plantain leaves.

This mercado reminded me of Oxbow or the Ferry Building; but celebrating Mexican artisanal products. Be sure to stop at Rancho El Camino's stall for mushrooms and fresh organic produce.

No trip to DF is complete without seeing Diego Rivera's estudio. A marvel of architecture, and a special glimpse into a beautiful and complicated relationship. Such a significant contribution to Mexican art.

This barbacoa de borrego stall, named Tres Parricos for the three generations here, had pancita stuffed into the sheep stomach-old school way. It was some of the best food I've ever tasted!

This corner spot doesn't come up on the map but it's at Calle Cohuilla at Av Yucutan and it was an excellent intro for me into the real barbacoa/pancita world!

In a row of tented street eats in front of Teatro Hidalgo, this gordita place stood out. Maybe cause the husband stands in the back patting out fresh masa dough while the wife is on the flat top!

Need a coctel, cevice, or fish taco fix? This does the trick. If you're nice the lady will slide you over a hot cup of shrimp consommé with your order. 😋

A couple steps from San Juan is this pastor stop that I'm pretty sure was my favorite in DF! Good flavor and excellent salsa verde.

A must stop on a mercado-junkie's list like me just for the sheer size and organization of butcheries. Plus, that mural tho...

This bar is on the world's best bars list from San Pellegrino and for good reason. So far the only place I've found to have really exceptionally well made cocktail in DF.
