Best hotel in Casco Viejo, if not all of Panama City. Latin dictator chic. The suite is excellent, but I would try the Jardín room next time, as it comes with a hammock.
Paletas! In every flavor imaginable. Some filled with oozy condensed milk or dulce de leche
House-roasted coffee from the Elida plantation
The saddest luxury mall in the world. Newly built with funding from someone on the Clinton List (and therefore rife with problems), features Laduree, Dior, Caroline Herrera etc - mostly all closed. Will be wonderful if it can surmount its financing problems.
Great store with tastefully curated collection of global goods & a nice cafe
Gorgeous Greek bakery with an amazing selection of chocolates, sandwiches, baklavas, cakes, and tarts!
Another great Unido selling Panama's best coffees :)
Finally luxury Panamanian chocolates!! Loved the pineapple & passion fruit ones. (Didn't snap a photo but got this one from @oromorenopanama)
Want to go. Recommended by American Trade Hotel.
Want to go. Recommended for brunch by Jose, the chef at Donde Jose.
Want to go. Closed til the end of summer '17, this looks like yet another phenomenal find in Casco Viejo. Andrés Madrigal previously earned a Michelin star at his restaurant Olivo in Spain.
Want to go. Supposedly the best bakery in PTY! Coffee looks good too. (Photo cred: @miranda_bakery)
Want to go. Mario Castrellon's restaurant has raised the bar for Panamanian cuisine and earned a spot on the top 50 best restaurants in Latin America. (Photo cred: @mariocastrellon)
Great place for dinner in Casco Viejo. Sit in the outdoor patio, and order from the custom gin & tonic cart (preferably something with maracuya!)
Elevated Panamanian food in an intimate 16-seat restaurant. Chef formerly worked at Attica & has returned to Panama to do something unbelievable with our traditional cuisine. The best food I've ever had in Panama, with familiar flavors and local ingredients you won't find anywhere else (like a mini soft shelled crab normally used as bait). MUST GO. (& sit at the chef's table & have cocktails). Jose is opening a new three story restaurant in July '17 with a food lab, a catering business, and a casual Panamanian restaurant to be called "Lo Que Hay"
Ancon Tours! We loved the boat tour of Gatun Lake. So much wildlife & the guide is phenomenal.
World-class pizzas with some Panamanian flair. Could do with better wine options...
Two restaurants, a dance club, and this gorgeous rooftop bar with this view. Expect great DJs and a late night. Love the elevator!
House made gelato with local flavors!
House rum & mojitos served in a gorgeously renovated bar
Raspao (shaved ice), typically served by a guy with a pushcart and some toxic flavors, is served here with fresh fruit toppings & condensed milk - and from the facade of a diablo rojo (old school painted bus)
