Came here at phil's recommendation, but he forgot to mention it would be full of ASIAN people! It took all of my energy to keep from turning heel and scramming, but after I purelled 6 times and ate the tofu, it was actually okay.
I used to bike 30 minutes to get here in high school before I knew that pizza was different in New York, or anywhere for that matter. I just knew it as that awesome thin-crust thin-sauce hole in the wall. After being in NYC for t years, it's still dn good.
This place was better when the swingset didn't meet alameda county safety standards.
Always took for granted that bakeries were like this, as I grew up eating the tarts and morning buns. Sadly, not all bakeries are like this.
Sterile decor with open kitchen, where you can see star chef James sybahout in action. Impressive seasonal gastronomy that's more edgy than hearty.
Phil says they're amateur, but that's only more reason for me to recommend it.
I don't really get their fried chicken sandwich. Jack and the box is like 4 blocks down too.
