Enjoy a kitschy flash of old Miami in the midst of downtown Chicago with some creative cocktails. Came highly recommended in its opening months by Scott Baird as well as Patrick, the bar manager at Violet Hour.

Worth the wait. The buttermilk old-fashioned, salted caramel old-fashioned and seasonal jelly doughnut were all amazing. Highly recommend.

Modern boutique hotel, very centrally located. A little more corporate than my ideal, but good amenities (esp. gym), solid room service, and a worthwhile option if you need a place close to downtown.

Enjoyed a quick overnight here and would definitely stay again. Great central location in River North. The apartment style room we had was big for Chicago standards and was perfect for traveling with a baby.

New hotel from the same owners as the Line in LA and the Nomad in New York. I got a literary bohemian vibe in the lobby, want to investigate further. Also home to the Broken Shaker (you should definitely have a drink there).

Extensive American whiskey selection, including 40+ options @ $3/pour. Solid cocktails. Brunch/lunch until 3pm daily. Love the small inn concept. Want to go back to the smaller bar, OSB at L&E, which is open in the evenings or on Saturday and Sunday all day.

Great for oysters, beer, and small plates. Feels like an old-timey beer hall in modern times.

Absolutely fantastic meal + wine + cocktails. The kibbeh sausage, werp farm greens and chorizo-stuffed medjool dates were the stand-outs. Highly recommend.
