More casual than Milk and Honey before it, fun speakeasy vibe.

Local's hang. Best pizza I had in NYC to date. Great for small group-- pop-in and sit at the bar. Great convo w/bartender.
Effective gourmet pizza.
Cute, dimly-lit bar w exposed brick walls. Good option for the area, with some interesting cocktails. Very date-friendly.

Small, minimally designed rooms in LES. Square windows frame your view of the city perfectly.

Once buzzy, still busy, gourmet
Bringing it back what never left.
It's all tasty, even (especially?) the carrots
Nice cocktail bar, speakeasy vibe. The booth seating will make you feel like you're on a train carriage on the Orient Express. Unmarked entrance to lower ground floor, on the south side of the street.

A tapas place I liked, ¡ay caramba! (Mostly I think of tapas places as elaborate scams)

Comfort and food both on offer at this nice-in-a-genuine-way Israeli-Brooklyn hybrid coffee shop
Intimate food community. Loud, tasty, and inclusive

Want to go. Minus the smoking, which they allow at this establishment, it looks way cool.
Excellent service, tasty Californian menu

Truly first class coffees and pastries.

Indian food from Uttar Pradesh. Sounds fantastic, just saw they had a feature in the New Yorker.

Famous for the smoked salmon egg scramble. Traditional Jewish fare; throwback atmosphere.
The salmon selection is special - great bagels - amusing "old-school" atmosphere. Caviar cream cheese. Also caviar caviar.
Really delicious ramen. Recommend the pulled pork. I'm a neophyte, but I found all the shouting by the wait-staff to be amusing. Always has a sizable wait but their wait-times appear to be accurate. Wait wait wait. But so tasty.
On my way

A nice walk - doesn't get you away from the crowds but does get you up off the streets.

Crazy-looking cakes, meringues, etc. High quality foods at fairly exorbitant prices.
This might gross you out, but my cousin ordered (and claimed to enjoy) the grasshopper tacos. Meal was tasty, great cocktails. The downstairs is drafty in the winter time, ask to be located somewhere warm.
Very reasonably priced and delicious falafel and its relations. The pita was fresh but left a little something to be desired. Everything else left very very little to be desired.
The ingredients listed for the old fashioned are "Bourbon, love." Cool spot but, happily, not overkill on the atmosphere.
It's all a bit dark, sweet, and blurry. I found the service a little unctuous, but alright. Pretty good cocktails in a dark nicely appointed place. A little self-serious
I'm overdue to visit

Cool barbershop -- both Joy and Duval really know how to cut hair. The other stylists are probably good too
Finally made it and the wait was well worth it. Delicious super thin crust pizza. Salad was fresh and tasty. The other tables' pastas looked good. Pizza, though, mmmmm
Country-inn vibe, seems like good clean food

Nice, spacious coffee/snack/brew shop -- reminiscent of DC's Tryst, minus the table service

Tasty sushi and appetizers at a reasonable price point -- a pleaser
Well-priced and tasty, cash only. Recommend ordering broth on the less-salty side. Can be loud.
Want to go. Outdoor seating looks atmospheric and cool
Upscale casual dining. Great flavor great style. Glengarry Glen Ross? This place is only for closers. You may have to wait, though
Tasty cocktails, shiny decor. Have it with jalapeño
Vapor-cooked eggs, made by one mean espresso maker in one cute, cheek-by-jowl W Village spot

Everything is amusing in Italian. Bomboloni? Hilarious. Charming spot. Sidewalk seating available

Excellent pizza, in particular breakfast pizza
You would think the food and drinks wouldn't be so good because the place seems cool and exclusive and the prices are New York reasonable. Well, surprise, it's all true. Call ahead for reservations if you want to eat
French cafe with outdoor seating. Casual, BYOB.
I like this place a lot. Simple quality. Not too foofie, but still refined. Meet here for a drink, stay for a bite.
Unmarked, cash only, no windows, mellow vibe for a place this hip. Good drinks
The original Thompson hotel that started a mini-empire. Solid boutique hotel, though rooms and spaces look more worn (and more staid) compared to 6 Columbus and Thompson LES (their other NYC properties that I've stayed at).
Molesky's got it right. The Gild Hall Thompson isn't bad, too
Nice sidewalk seating. Spacey italian servers. Very good pasta. Cash only
Beautiful indoor baths. Transporting. I've often sought to imagine the pampered life of ancient aristocracy. This place can't be too far off
Bocce ball... Suite. (14 Apr 2014)
Bocce ball and a good color palette make this place (14 Apr 2014)
Menus don't exist here in hipster land, but you can get it scrawled on your table, while sitting outdoors with a killer view of Manhattan. My burger was delicious
Very tasty and (almost) reasonably priced. Nice garden space out back, surely a gem for Italian food in the summer.
Soon I will be too old for this pointily hip bar. Till then, I will enjoy their delicious cocktails and the shiny people everywhere. Was crowded.
